What are your business hours?
We're open Monday through Saturday, 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, and closed on Sundays. Appointments are scheduled within these hours.
How do I schedule a repair?
However's easiest for you — book online in a couple of minutes, or give us a call and we'll walk you through it. Either way you'll get confirmation right away, no waiting around to hear back.
Can you provide same-day appliance repair services?
Often, yes — if your technician already has the part on the truck, most repairs wrap up the same day. If a part needs to be ordered, we'll get you on the schedule the moment it arrives, usually with an estimate in hand within 1-2 business days.
Do you offer emergency or after-hours service?
Not at the moment — we keep to standard hours (Monday–Saturday, 7am–7pm) so we can give every customer our full attention. If your issue can't wait, your best bet is grabbing the earliest slot available online.
What information do I need to provide when booking?
Just the appliance type, brand, and a quick description of what's going on. If the model or serial number is handy (usually on a sticker inside the door or on the back panel), that gets us a head start on parts — but don't worry if you don't have it, we'll figure it out.
Will I get an exact arrival time for my appointment?
We schedule within a window rather than a fixed time, the same way most home-service companies do — it lets our technicians give the customer ahead of you the time they need without rushing. We just ask that you're reachable during the window, and we'll keep you posted as it gets closer.
Will I be notified before the technician arrives?
Yes — we'll keep you in the loop by phone, text, and email with reminders and updates, so you're never left guessing.
Can I reschedule or cancel my appointment?
Of course — life happens. Call our office or use the online booking system to move things around. All we ask is for as much notice as you can give, so we can offer that slot to another customer who needs it.
What is the cost of your diagnostic service?
Our diagnostic fee is $110, which covers a thorough inspection and an accurate read on what's actually wrong with your appliance. If you decide to move forward with the repair, that fee comes right off the total — you're not paying for it twice.
Do you offer free estimates?
We don't, and honestly, we think that's fairer to you: the $110 diagnostic fee means your technician can properly inspect the appliance instead of guessing over the phone. That fee is fully credited toward the repair if you go ahead, and you'll always see the price before any work starts.
What if I decide not to go ahead with the repair after diagnosis?
That's completely your call, and no hard feelings either way. The diagnostic fee still applies since it covers the visit and the professional evaluation itself, but you're never obligated to have us do the repair.
Is there a fee if I need to cancel or reschedule?
We get that plans change — just give us as much notice as you can, and it's not a problem. A service charge may apply for a very last-minute cancellation or a no-show, mainly because that's a slot another customer could have used.
What payment methods are available for your services?
Payment is collected on site once the repair is complete, and we accept the usual methods. You'll get an invoice along with your warranty information at that time, so you have it on hand.
Do I have to pay for parts upfront?
Usually a deposit is needed before we order parts on your behalf — that way we're not left holding inventory nobody ends up wanting. Once a part's been ordered, that deposit is generally non-refundable, and special-order parts sometimes can't be returned, but we'll always explain this upfront, not after the fact.
What types of appliances do you repair?
Pretty much everything in your kitchen and laundry room — refrigerators, freezers, ice makers, wine coolers, washers, dryers, stoves and cooktops, ovens, microwaves, dishwashers, garbage disposals, range hoods, water heaters, and HVAC systems. We also offer preventive maintenance visits and pre-purchase appliance inspections.
Do you repair high-end and luxury appliance brands?
Yes. We're a manufacturer-authorized service partner for LG, Whirlpool, Liebherr, Dacor, GE, Asko, Viking, Midea, Danby, Monogram, La Cornue, Pinnacle, SMEG, Coyote, Vent-A-Hood, Fhiaba, Scotsman, Aga, Marvel, and Lynx. We also regularly work on Sub-Zero, Wolf, Cove, Thermador, Gaggenau, Miele, Bosch Benchmark, and Fisher & Paykel, though we're upfront that we're not a manufacturer-authorized dealer for those. Our Manufacturer Partners page has the full breakdown, or just give us a call and we'll tell you straight.
Do you install new appliances, or only repair existing ones?
Both. Beyond repairs, we handle installations — wall ovens, stacked washer/dryer setups, and more — and we're the setup and service partner for a few new appliance brands sold direct to consumers.
Do you offer appliance inspections, for example before buying a home?
Yes — it's a straightforward, professional look at an appliance's condition and how much life it likely has left, whether you're buying a home, moving in, or just want peace of mind.
Do you service commercial appliances?
Our focus is residential appliances, but we're happy to take a look at commercial units too — pricing works a little differently there, and our standard 90-day warranty is built around residential use. Give us a call and we'll figure out the right approach for your situation.
What warranty do you provide on appliance repairs?
Every repair we do is backed by a 90-day warranty on both parts and labor — we want you to feel confident in the work, not just hopeful. Active members get double the labor coverage: 6 months on labor for repairs performed while their membership is active, with parts staying at the standard 90 days.
What exactly does the 90-day warranty cover?
It covers the exact issue we repaired, on the same appliance, for 90 days from the service date. If that same problem comes back in that window, we'll come make it right at no extra charge — that's the whole point of standing behind our work.
What isn't covered by the repair warranty?
The warranty is there to back up our own workmanship, so a few things naturally sit outside it: commercial or industrial use, cosmetic parts like glass, trim, or shelves, plumbing and water supply lines, appliances moved after we service them, and parts that are no longer made. If you're ever unsure whether something's covered, just ask — full details are also on our Warranty & Partnerships page.
Can you help with a manufacturer warranty claim?
Yes — bring us the brand, model number, and proof of purchase when you book, and we'll confirm whether it's covered before any work begins. We'd rather sort that out upfront than surprise you later.
Do you work with home warranty companies?
Yes, regularly. Just let us know your home warranty company when you book so we can prepare the right documentation for your claim. The approval and coverage decisions ultimately sit with your warranty company rather than with us, but we'll do our part to keep the process smooth.
Do you offer a maintenance membership plan?
Yes — three tiers (Home Care, Home Protection Plus, and Estate), each with an annual maintenance visit, discounted or waived diagnostic fees, ongoing repair discounts, and an extended 6-month labor warranty (double our standard 90 days — parts stay at 90 days either way). Our Membership Plans page lays them out side by side.
Is there a fee to join a membership plan?
Yes, a one-time $49 enrollment fee on top of your first month. It's a small, one-time thing that keeps the plans sustainable for everyone in them — not a recurring cost.
Can I cancel my membership at any time?
Absolutely — call or email us whenever you'd like, no cancellation fee and no hoops to jump through. It just takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle.
When is my annual maintenance visit scheduled?
We schedule those during our seasonal service windows, typically spring and fall, rather than on demand — we'll reach out to confirm your date shortly after you enroll. Your membership pricing and other perks, like the diagnostic and repair discounts, kick in right away regardless.
Which areas does Virginia Appliance Repair serve?
Northern Virginia, Washington, D.C., and parts of Maryland — the DMV, basically. We're proud to call this whole area our neighborhood.
Do you work with property managers and landlords?
Yes — landlords, property managers, and real estate professionals across the DMV count on us for fast, reliable repairs that don't disrupt tenants any more than necessary.
Do I need to be home during the repair?
We ask that an adult be present, yes — mainly so someone can point the technician to the appliance and hear the diagnosis and estimate firsthand before any work starts.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
Just clear a safe path to the appliance, make sure nearby utilities (water, gas, electrical) are connected and working, and keep pets somewhere comfortable and out of the way. It helps your technician get straight to the job instead of working around obstacles.
What happens if my appliance is hard to access or conditions are unsafe?
Safety comes first, for you and for our technician. If we run into something that doesn't feel safe or an appliance we genuinely can't reach, we'll pause and work with you to reschedule once it's sorted — we're not trying to make things difficult, just making sure everyone gets home safe at the end of the day.
Have a question we didn't answer?
Call us or send a message — we typically respond the same business day.
